Cindy and Keith’s Kentucky Horse Park Engagement Session by Lexington KY wedding photographer Caitlin Worth.
I read about Cindy’s search for an affordable wedding photographer through a Facebook post. She had a budget to work with and was interested in helping someone just starting their business. Cindy was exactly the client I was looking for. I hoped I was the kind of photographer she was looking for. I was pretty nervous about sending my very thin portfolio, but she liked what she saw and wanted to book me.
At first I just planned to do the wedding, but when I met her and Keith to talk about the schedule she mentioned they hadn’t done any engagement photos. She thought they might end up going to a mall studio to get them done. I thought, “oh no, that will never do” and wrote her later asking if she’d like to do an engagement shoot. She was glad to and we had the shoot at the Kentucky Horse Park where she works and also where the wedding will be.
We had a great time! I was feeling nervous as this was my first ‘business’ shoot but Cindy was so cheerful the whole time. She really helped both Keith and me have a lot of fun. Cindy and Keith are big fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and wore matching tee shirts. The Kentucky Horse Park has some beautifully landscaped spots and we were not left wanting for good scenery. I knew I wanted to end up at the pastures to try getting a horse in the photos. I was thrilled that Rafiq the Arabian happened to be in a close field and came to snuggle with us (for a few treats).
