Nichole And Vincent’s Intimate Wedding
Nichole and Vincent’s Intimate Wedding at the Old Governor’s Mansion in Frankfort, KY

I’ll preface this story by saying… It. Was. So. Hot.
Nichole and Vincent gathered all of their closest family and friends for their intimate wedding at the Old Governor’s Mansion in Frankfort, KY. The mansion has a charming outdoor garden that is just right for a small ceremony. This was a short day for me, only three hours. Once I arrived, we got ready to photograph their first look. It was so hot I didn’t want to keep them outside for too long. Vincent was already sweating through his jacket after a few minutes. Their first look was adorable, and we did a quick walk around the garden for some portraits.

By the time the ceremony started, the garden was completely shaded. However, the air was still hot and saturated with humidity. My camera was letting me know how miserable it was by giving me high-temperature warnings.
Nichole and Vincent had a wonderful ceremony and were so happy to be married. After many congratulations, it was time for food!

The mansion has a nice eating space next to the garden that was set for their meal. As a foodie person, I was thoroughly impressed by the spread on the table. It was all made by Nichole’s mother. Nichole decorated her wedding with sunflowers. Some people might say sunflowers are yesterday’s trend, but I say they are always great choices for weddings. I can’t help feel happy when I see one of my favorite flowers in vases all around me.

On reflection, as I continue to experience weddings at different times of the year, I’ve learned the conditions I work my best in. The intense heat experienced at this wedding, and a few others, have motivated me to close the summer months to weddings, even indoor ones. I have as hard a time functioning in the heat as my equipment does.
