As I was becoming more and more interested in pursuing wedding photography, I started casually searching the work of local photographers and I found the work of Brandi Potter. Her bold and moody style, and the way she shows the emotion of her couples really struck me. Each photo looks like a work of art. I was thrilled when she announced she was hosting a workshop and it was actually something I could afford! The location was the charming Warrenwood Manor, situated in the rolling hills of Danville, KY.
Meeting new people is pretty difficult for me and I had never met any of the workshop attendees before. I felt nervous as usual and it was wonderful how welcoming everyone one.
As the workshop got underway, I was excited to discover what Warrenwood Manor had to offer. I love the bold strength of old houses. There are so many photo opportunities throughout the manor and the grounds. The second floor has a lovely old window that creates some obsession-worthy rainbow light. It’s amazing and everyone was chasing the light through the hallway. The walls have some beautiful vintage wallpaper that one cannot resist using as a backdrop. Fields In Bloom made some beautiful and unique flower arrangements for us.
I am so grateful to the amazing vendors who made the event a beautiful, photographic playground.
